Expert Answers about Pintle Hitch

  • Replacement Ball for a Draw-Tite Pintle Hitch Combination Trailer Hitch
  • The correct replacement ball for a Curt Pintle Hook Combo, # C48200, with a 2-5/16 inch ball is the Pintle Hitch Ball, # C48830. The Tow Ready Ball, # 63019, fits pintle hitch # TR63042. If you were towing a trailer with a lunette ring, you would not remove the ball. The ball is what retains the ring and the top part of the pintle hitch keeps it from jumping up and off of the ball.

  • Is There A Pintle Adapter Available For A B&W Tow And Stow Ball Mount In A 3 Hitch
  • Though I may have another option available for you, the B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount # BWTS30049B is not available with a pintle hitch as of yet. With that being said, there are actually no current options available for the 3" hitches being used, so you will need to use a reducer, like the # 58552, if you do not already have one. This will allow you to go one of two ways. First will be the Curt Pintle Hook with 2-5/16" Ball - 2-1/2" Hitches # C45908. This is rated to 20,000 pounds and...

  • Yes you sure can! The replacement pins that are used to adjust the hitch ball and pintle hook on the Curt # C45910-15-20 are found on our site listed as part # C45925. If you would rather go with a locking pic set I recommend the Curt Lock Set # C23556. This will replace one of those adjustment pins and then also be used to lock the shank of this ball mount to your trailer hitch receiver.

  • Replacement 2-5/16 Inch Trailer Ball for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Hitch
  • The Tow Ready Pintle Hitch Ball you referenced, part # 63019 would work just fine with your Equal-i-zer weight distribution hitch. As you said, those systems use a ball with a 1-1/4 inch diameter with a shank no longer than 2-3/8 inches. You'll want to make sure that the fully loaded and ready to tow tongue weight of your TT (plus the weight of anything stowed behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle) doesn't exceed the capacity of the Equal-i-zer system you're using.

  • Replacement Coupler for 2003 Lancaster EH8216-12K
  • A straight coupler won't work on the trailer receiver box dimensions you give of 5.5 x 3.5. An alternative option would be the Demco Trailer Coupler w/ 5-Position Adjustable Channel - eZ-Latch # DM6125-81 which would need to be welded in position, but would give you the adjustable height for your coupler.

  • Replacement Hub/Drums for Utility Trailer with Drum Brakes and Utility-Style Hubs
  • Thank you for the clear description and photo of your Hudson utility trailer and its hubs. You have what appear to be what we call 5-spoke utility hub/drums, part # 8-174-5UC3, shown on the linked page. With such hubs the wheels rest on the hub's outer rim. This hub is rated for use on 6K and 7K axles. In order to change these to more standard RV hub/drums you will need to know the inner and outer bearing parts. Any alternate hub has to use the same bearings or you will need to change...
